Creating a source list

After the Inventor Migration Tool has been registered as described in Registering the Inventor Migration Tool, a list of the source files that require migration must be created. The list must consist of a first line that specifies the TeamWork server name and vault name that contains the files to migrate followed by lines that each specify one source to migrate. Each source line can refer to a folder or a file. The list must use the following format:

M-<ServerName>,D-<VaultName>
\<VaultPathToSource>
...

A sample source list would look like:

M-DTI-WIN2003,D-Mechanical

To create a source list:

1. Create a new text file in any text editor.
2. Type a line that contains the server name and vault name using the syntax shown above.
3. Type the paths to the sources to be migrated, one folder or file per line.
   
   Note         All of the files required for each assembly must be included in the file list for the migration to succeed. If a child assembly or part is not included, all parents that reference the child will not be migrated.
4. Save the file with any name to any location that Autodesk Inventor can access.
5. Proceed as described in Creating the download task.

Tip    To quickly create the source list using TeamWork, consult a system administrator about configuring a report template that can be used on selected folders or a public collection of all Autodesk Inventor files.
